A grounded comparison of the NECA Predator Concrete Jungle Stone Heart and the TMNT BST AXN Super Shredder, with clear trade-offs for display, articulation, and budget.
Quick answer
If you want a light-up centerpiece with interchangeable parts, pick the NECA Predator Concrete Jungle Stone Heart Predator 7-Inch Action Figure. If you want a larger 8-inch villain with 31 points of articulation and a comic included at a lower price, pick the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BST AXN Super Shredder 8-Inch Action Figure & Comic Set. The Predator is the more complex display piece; the Super Shredder is the easier, more affordable shelf anchor.
Size and presence on the shelf
The Super Shredder is described as a colossal 8-inch figure, while the Stone Heart Predator stands over 10 inches tall. That difference changes how each one reads on a shelf: the Predator is taller and more imposing, while the Super Shredder is still large enough to anchor a 7-inch-scale display without dominating it. Both are bigger than a standard 7-inch figure, so measure your shelf height and depth before committing.
Articulation and posing
Both figures offer over 30 points of articulation, so neither is a statue. The Super Shredder lists 31 points, and the Stone Heart Predator lists over 30 points plus interchangeable mandibles, open and fist hands, and plug-in extended blades. In practice, the Predator gives you more ways to change the silhouette because of the swap-out parts, while the Super Shredder relies on its articulation and size. If you frequently re-pose figures, the Predator's extra hands and blades add variety; if you set a pose and leave it, the Super Shredder's 31 points are more than enough.
Lighting, accessories, and display impact
The Stone Heart Predator is the only one of the two with LED light-up head, chest, and back, which makes it the stronger choice for a dark shelf or a dedicated spotlight. The Super Shredder set includes a comic, adding a readable extra rather than a display accessory. Neither listing confirms a base or stand, so plan for the possibility that you will need to supply your own support if you want dynamic poses.
Price and value
At catalog prices, the Super Shredder is USD 25.34 against a comparison price of USD 38.99, and the Stone Heart Predator is USD 44.84 against a comparison price of USD 64.99. The Predator costs more, but it also includes LED lighting and more interchangeable parts. The Super Shredder costs less and still delivers an 8-inch figure, 31 points of articulation, and a comic. If you are building a collection on a budget, the Super Shredder leaves more room for a second figure; if you want one statement piece, the Predator's lighting and accessories justify the higher price.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Size vs. shelf space: The Predator is over 10 inches tall, while the Super Shredder is 8 inches. The Predator makes a bigger visual statement but needs more vertical clearance. Measure your shelf before choosing the taller figure.
- Lighting vs. simplicity: The Predator has LED light-up head, chest, and back; the Super Shredder has no listed lighting but includes a comic. Pick the Predator for a lit display, the Super Shredder for a straightforward set-and-display figure.
- Accessories vs. budget: The Predator includes interchangeable mandibles, hands, and blades; the Super Shredder includes 31 points of articulation and a comic at a lower price. Spend more for posing options, or spend less and keep budget for another figure.
